UNREALISTIC.
Even those people who are not plagued by exaggerated self-doubts and thoughts of failure tend to be somewhat unrealistic in their estimation of themselves and of the challenges they face. They usually overestimate the difficulties and underestimate their own abilities for resolving them. As a result, they make only half-hearted efforts when when pursuing desired objectives.
RISK TAKING.
Failures, mistakes, setbacks are an integral part of achieving success. It is doubtful that any one ever really succeeded without taking risks. And risks inevitably entail some failure experiences. Finally, what counts is not our mistakes and failures, but our emotional willingness to risk and accept failure.
When we have the courage to risk personal rejection, wasted efforts, and even psychological defeat should our efforts fail, we've taken a giant step toward liberating ourselves from fear of failure, strange.
Once we are free from that fear, there is almost an immediate upsurge of energies to exercise our capacities. Frequently we discover capacities we didn't even know we had, and that far exceed our expectations. Freed from this fear of failure, we're not only free to do our best, but to discover what its farthest reaches may entail.
